Patrick Osei Agyemang, a.k.a Countryman Songo, the hosts of Fire for Fire on Asempa FM and Multi TV has called on the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to disband the Kwesi Nyantakyi led Ghana Football Association, following the poor performance of the Black Stars in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Ghana finished fourth in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, as Burkina Faso cruised to a 1-0 victory on Saturday in Port Gentil on Saturday, via Alain Traore's stunning freekick in the 88th minute.

Countryman Songo and some other sports journalists have led the crusade to get Kwesi Nyantakyi out of office, attributing the team's poor display in the AFCON to him.

"He has failed woefully. If you leave them to go and vote, they’re the same caucus. They’re the same animal farm ruling. They’re the same friends and cronies. The same gang, so they will go unopposed for all the posts if you leave them to vote because it’s an association . . . the same thing will occur that they’ll vote for themselves. They have to go. All that they can do is what they’ve done,” Patrick Osei Agyemang told Peace FM.
Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Saani Darra has, however, countered people calling for the head of Kwesi Nyantakyi.
"You keep trying until you win. It's all you got to do . . . we're trying," he said.
Kwesi Nyantakyi has been in charge of the Black Stars since 2005 and was in 2015 given another four-year mandate to run the Ghana FA.
The world football governing body, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) frowns on governement interference, so any attempt by the government of Ghana to meddle in the choice of leader for the FA would invite FIFA sanction.
