Ghana set new AFCON record after defeat to Burkina Faso

The Black Stars became the first nation to lose in four AFCON third-place games

Ghana’s defeat to Burkina Faso on Saturday in the third-place play-off makes it the fourth time the four times champions of Africa have failed to win the bronze medal in the AFCON which is unprecedented in anal of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana were tied with Mali with three defeats each in the third-place play off, but Saturday’s lose has enabled Ghana to surpass their West African counterparts to set an infamous record.
