The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has won the party’s Saturday primary
She polled 554 votes while her contender, Robert Nicol polled 317 votes.

In all, a total of 816 votes were cast although the expected turnout was 1,168 delegates.
Five ballots were rejected.
Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful was confident of retaining her seat because according to her, the delegates had promised to keep her as their representative for the November 7 polls.
Early on, Mr. Nicol's camp had threatened to reject the election results following the appearance of three new voters register.
