Irate youth of Somanya burn police car to ashes

Some aggrieved residents at Somanya in the Eastern Region have clashed with Police officers in the area over the arrest of the leader who organised a demonstration against the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The irate youth burned the police car in the process.

On Friday, May 26, hundreds of residents stormed the office of the ECG over what they described as anomalies with their billing.

According to the angry residents, they are being cheated by the service provider as they have over the last few months experienced a huge jump in their bills.
