Former Ghanaian politician Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby has opined on one of the most controversial topics of all time ‘sex-before-marriage’ , saying he has absolutely no problem with it.

The Former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA) also noted that, “the massive influx and the seeming acceptability of condoms is an indication that the world no longer frowns on sex-before-marriage.”

In his view “The pastors are doing it so? If sex before marriage is not to be encouraged, you wouldn’t have condoms and other tools for the prevention of pregnancy all over the place.”

According to Wireko-Brobbey “Sex was fundamentally for procreation, but the minute you bring in condoms and other stuff, then you are saying that it’s just not for creation but for pleasure.”

Sex-before-marriage is prohibited by the Bible and many Christian parents in Ghana insist on their wards, especially females to maintain chastity until they are legally married.

The subject, however, remains topical in many circles with different interpretations given to it even among churches.
