The Nungua Traditional Council has warned residents within the catchment area of Spintex Road, Sakumono, and Baatsonaa to adhere to the traditions of the Ga-Dangme State ahead of the funeral rites of its late overlord, Gborbu Wulomor.
A family spokesperson, Samuel Alabi, has warned of dire consequences for those who will flout the curfew imposed in connection with the funeral rites.
“During this period, there will be sacred rite performances.
“At 10:00pm, people are still [in town] and up to 4:00am people are waking up getting ready for their work and in the night [of the burial] so many things will happen.
"The gods will come to lead their son home… So we wouldn’t want a situation where normal people will be parading and in the process get possessed or get hurt because there will be a lot of gunshots [too]. So for our human security and spiritual protection, we need to observe this,” he told Accra-based Class FM.
