Peace, stability key to combating terrorism in Libya

The Secretary-General, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC),Mr Iyad Madani, has urged all parties in the Libyan crisis to engage positively with the UN-sponsored political dialogue in order to fortify Libya against terrorism.

Madani also said the successful resolution of differences among the rivals would also facilitate internal stability in the country and contribute to enhanced security in the region.

In a statement issued in New York on Thursday the OIC chief also condemned terrorism perpetrated by `Daesh’ in Sirte.

He said the criminal acts in Libyan posed a threat to regional peace and security.
