According to the publication, the singer in an interview on GhOne Television said her mother after giving birth to six decided to abort the seventh but was warned by a fetish priest she consulted.

“I would say my birth was saved by Grace. My mum told me a story. According to my mum, after her sixth child, she decided not to give birth again so when I was conceived, she opted for an abortion. Hence her decision to see a fetish priest for some concoctions but things changed as the priest warned her never to try it because the child in her womb was going to be a star and if she tries, she will lose her life.”

Celestine further indicated that her mother who was bent on aborting the pregnancy decided to seek help elsewhere and was subsequently bedridden.

“Not so happy and convinced about the outcome of the first place, my mum decided to try somewhere else. Just when she was about leaving, she fell and became weak. My mom was bed ridden became a vegetable until her time of labour. It was only at this time she was able to walk,” she said.

Celestine Donkor has recorded a number of songs including M’anim nguase and Supernatural.
