Karpower has assured Ghanaians that work on Ghana’s second power barge is still ongoing, undisrupted by last Friday’s attempted coup in Turkey.

In a statement released by Karpower and copied to Pulse.com.gh, the company revealed that life in Turkey has returned to normalcy and all services needed for continuous work on the second powership are operational.

This, according to Karpower, means that the company would deliver the second 350 MW power barge needed to augment Ghana’s energy supply in August as originally planned.

As covered by international news agencies on July 15th, there has been a short lived coup attempt by a fraction in Turkish Armed Forces.

All our international and local personnel are safe and all our operations inside and outside of Turkey and construction works in our shipyards continue without any interruptions or delays. Thus the 450mw Powership expected in Ghana this year will be delivered as planne

Life has returned normal in Turkey thanks to our government’s prudent reaction which failed the coup attempt in a short time.

Operations in airports, ports and public institutions have returned to normal.
