Curfew on Bunkprugu renewed

The Interior Ministry has renewed the curfew in the Bunkprugu Township from 8pm to 6 am.
 
 

Minister of Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council (NRCC) and by executive instrument, renewed curfew hours in the Bunkprugu Township from 8pm to 6am effective Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

This was contained in a statement signed by Deputy Interior Minister, James Agalga.

The statement said Government is urging Chiefs, opinion leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of challenges and use non-violent means to address issues and channel their energies into insuring peace in the area.

Numerous deaths have been recorded between Jamong and Jafog clans in the Bunkprugu traditional area.

There are have also been attempts for peaceful co-existence in between the two clans.
