The James Town mantse and the paramount chief of Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V is dead.
His demise was announced by the kingmakers of the Ngleshie Alata Paramount Stool James Town in Accra.
The cause of death was not disclosed but Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V was taken ill some time ago which rendered him incapacitated.

This caused the kingmakers and elders of James Town to install Nii Sackey Akomia VI as the acting Mantse of the Traditional Area.
The old boy of Achimota School ascended the throne in 1978..
He was known in private life as Ezekiel Quarmina Allotey Cofie, he was born on June 12, 1920, and trained as a Dental Surgeon at the Edinburgh University in the United Kingdom.

As a traditional ruler, Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V has served in various capacities. He was a member of the Greater Accra House of Chiefs for many years. He became a member of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs when it ceded from the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs.
He left behind his wife Mrs Florence Ansaah Cofie and his nine (9) children (3 boys and 6 girls) and grandchildren.
