Female junior doctor set new record in KNUST Medical School

A young graduate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Medical School has caught the attention of Ghanaians on social media, as she swept away 12 of the 15 awards available for excellent academic distinction in Saturday’s graduation ceremony for the 2015/2016 academic year.

Fathia Ayodele Kareem, an alumna of the Wesley Girls High School, was sworn in as a medical doctor where she picked up 12 prizes to the adulation of many on social media.

24-year-old Charles Djugbah, in 2015 set a new record by winning 8 awards at the end of his seven-year course at the university.

Even though his 8 awards broke the then 40-year record, Charles’ record stood for just a year with Fathia setting a new height for future students to beat.

Fathia, completely besides herself with joy,  in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, expressed her gratitude to God for seeing her through her seven year journey in medicine.
