Actress Kate Hudson , 18-month-old daughter Rani Rose, and mom Goldie Hawn are on the most recent cover of PEOPLE magazine's "Most Beautiful" issue. In a new interview with the publication, Goldie revealed that she originally planned to give Kate a totally different nameup until the ride to the hospital.
"She kicked me so hard in my vagina that I changed her name right on the spot because she was tough," Goldie, 74, told People . "I had named her Rebecca and on the 405 [freeway] I went, 'This is a Kate.'"
The mother-daughter duo are extremely close, and Kate opened up more about how the birth of her three kids (sons Ryder, 16, and Bing, 8, and, of course, Rani Rose) brought them even closer.
"It was really amazing with Bing, because it was the first time any of us in the family had had a natural birth," said Kate. "And you got to be there."
Goldie was right by Kate's side during her second birth with Bing and recalled how amazing the experience was. "I was so happy to be invited in that room," she said.
And she revealed that everyone thought Bing was going to be a girl before he was born. "I watched him be born, and I saw a penis. And then I wrapped him in the pink blanket that I knit while I was waiting for him," Goldie explained.
And for Kate's third birth with Rani Rose, Goldie was also by her side. "I was right there," she said. "I was a little bit close."
"Every part of that birth was just so beautiful," Kate added.
