Few hours after the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) declared an indefinite industrial action in protest against the non-payment of their 2014/2015 Book and Research allowance, social media platforms have been buzzing with mixed reactions from a section of the public.

While some who are believed to be students of various universities in Ghana are hailing the union for embarking on a strike action, others opine that the decision will lead to a disruption of the academic calendar.
