Former Premier League star Dimitri Payet has spoken out after shocking abuse allegations were made against him by his former lover, Larissa Ferrari.
Larissa, a 28-year-old Brazilian lawyer, claimed in an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday that Payet, 38, subjected her to "physical, moral, psychological and sexual violence" during their relationship.
She accused him of forcing her to film degrading videos, making her drink her own urine and water from the toilet, and even lick the floor. She also said Payet made her take part in a fake wedding and wear a ring to “prove her love”.
Larissa provided photos of bruises to The Sun on Sunday, which she says she has also handed over to the police. She told the newspaper:
He's a sick monster. I was scared for my life, and I’m still scared.
In a statement given to Brazilian police, Payet denied "physical and psychological violence", according to local news outlet G1, which claims to have seen documents relating to the case.
He admitted to a seven-month affair with Larissa, explaining he was feeling "lonely" while playing for Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro.

Larissa, who has borderline personality disorder, claims that Payet took advantage of her mental health struggles. She told G1:
Dimitri knew about my passion and psychological problems, using this against me.

However, Payet’s statement reportedly says that all activities between them were consensual and often suggested by Larissa herself.
He claimed that during their relationship, Larissa "requested slaps during sexual intercourse", leading to marks seen on her body, and that they also used wooden chairs during their encounters.
G1 reports that Payet refused Larissa’s wishes to continue their relationship when he decided to return to France, and that she wanted him to pay her living expenses.
Dmitri Payet's response
Payet’s lawyer, Sheila Lustoza, told G1:
It is regrettable that confidential records were leaked, but the case reveals with evidence something that is very clear: a woman exercising her freedom and will, as it should be, contrary to what has been publicly narrated up until now. The defence is confident that the truth that is proven by documents will demonstrate these facts.
Larissa, meanwhile, said:
I not only want justice but to also help other women who are blindly allowing their partners to abuse them.
Payet, who spent 18 months at West Ham before moving to Marseille for £25 million in 2017, signed for Vasco da Gama in 2023. Larissa claims they first connected on Instagram through a fake profile and later moved to WhatsApp messaging.
