Accompanied by a caption that reads, simply, "Stay ready," the 6'5, 288-pound Texans captain revealed the results of what appears to have been a grueling offseason training regimen, looking ripped and ready to make a comeback after recovering from a pectoral tear that prematurely ended his 2019 season.
Watt, who appeared on the cover of Men's Health in 2015 and again in 2018, previously broke down the 90-minute routine he uses to stay swole, which includes tire flips and kettlebell swings. (You can catch a glimpse of it in the video above.) In a follow-up interview in 2019, Watt also opened up about the injuries that have plagued him in recent seasons, as well as the rehab plan that keeps the 31-year-old, three-time Defensive Player of the Year bouncing back.
In the latter interview, Watt also reflected on his time off the field, and the valuable perspective it gave him. You realize how much you miss the game and what it means. Even more than the actual games, its the little stuff: being in the locker room with your teammates, the camaraderie, the inside jokes, the practice drills, the bus rides."
Let's hope that's a sign we'll see Watt back on the field sooneven if, yes, it means wearing a face shield.
