First, friends and family attended a "Colors of the Souk"-themed dinner at the five star Amenjana resort in Marrakesh the evening before the ceremony, while the wedding itself will be followed by an all-white, festival-inspired gala at the Mandarin Oriental.

Elba wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng for the ceremony, while Dhowre wore two custom gowns by Vera Wang. The occasion was photographed by Sean Thomas for the July issue of British Vogue, with a number of images swiftly circulating online and sparking love from fans.

Elba and Dhowre, a former Miss Vancouver, started dating in early 2017. They got engaged in February 2018 during a screening of Elba's directorial debut feature, Yardie, in a theater in London.
