"You're feeding people who can't afford to eatit's a beautiful thingyou're telling me you leave the house and go and wash dishes there?" Stern asked.

"Five days a week," Bon Jovi said. "The restaurant's closedbut the in-need still need to eat, especially now. They don't have a place like the local Y to go to the showers. They don't have other restaurants giving them lunch and breakfast. Literally, I'm in the kitchen washing dishes and I have no interface with people outside."

Stern then asked if the singer was scared of catching COVID-19, given his level of exposure. "Sure, I'm scared to death," he replied. "We've got the inside and outside clothes, the masks and the gloves, for what it's worth I've probably got the cleanest hands in New Jersey because they're always in the sink."

As the segment concluded, Bon Jovi added a plug for his upcoming livestream benefit concert, Jersey for Jersey , on April 22 at 7 p.m., where he'll appear remotely alongside stars such as Bruce Springsteen, Jon Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, and more. Fans can stream the show on Apple Music and Apple TV.
