A CrossFit Champ Explains What Keeps Her Motivated

Kinney, now 36, whom ESPN once referred to as a "super athlete" in 2013, filmed a brief segment with Guinness last year during which she explained the strategy behind her three record-breaking lifts. She also explains how she got started with the competitive lifting program in the first place. "I had a friend tell me about a CrossFit gym in town, so I visited and I loved it. I loved the atmosphere, I loved being coached, and I love pushing myself," she says.

"It's important to challenge yourself regularly so you don't go backwards," she says. "Challenges are what wake me up in the morning and give me this vigor for life."
