Woman charged with second-degree theft for stealing three chips from a police officer

A woman has been arrested and charged with second-degree theft for stealing three chips from a police officer.

The shocking incident, which took place at 9.45pm, happened at an Italian Pizza Kitchen in Washington DC – less than two miles from the White House. Metro UK reported.

The suspect allegedly sat down next to the officer and tried to start a conversation, WUSA9 reported.

She then reached down and took a chip – known as a French fry in the US – from him as he was eating. The police officer warned her to stop, but she took another.

According to Metro UK, the officer repeated his demand that she cease taking his chips, warning her that she was engaging in theft and faced immediate arrest.

However, she proceeded to disregard this warning and take another chip – so she was arrested.

She has been charged with second-degree theft.
