From performing on stage in underwear to firing his mum as his manager, Burna Boy tends to have some kind of controversy surrounding him. As the Nigerian singer turns 24 years old today, we take a look at some interesting news stories from this year.
1. Pop act allegedly fights with Buffalo Souljah at a party. 25.01.15
As mentioned in previous articles, Burna is receiving massive love from South Africa (SA) and other surrounding nations; as such, the singer is out there performing and working with some of the biggest acts in SA. According to reports, early in January, he and Zimbabwean artist Buffalo Souljah got into a fight at a club in SA.
2. Artiste threatens to kill bloggers who write about him. 12.05.15
In May, the former Aristokrat act tweeted: "These bloggers be writing shit thinking its a game until I see yall face to face one day nd hospitalize or murk u. We gon meet 1day #onsight". This tweet of course led to several bloggers writing about him and his tweet.
3. Dancehall star unhappy with no nominations at MAMAs 2015. 12.06.15
The 'Like To Party' crooner tweeted about being "bummed" he was not nominated for the 2015 MTV Africa Music (MAMA) Awards. He was the first talent to openly express how he felt about the award nominations before AKA followed suit.
The story didn't end with Burna's grievance, the International brand took to it's Twitter account to respond to him with mocking remarks.
During his interview with Olisa Adibua, the Spaceship Entertainment artist finally gave an insight into reasons why he hasn't been to the United Kingdom and cleared the air on the stories regarding him stabbing someone. He has said this stories are false.
You sabi boy! The Don Gorgon shared an image of himself strapped. One of the images he posted has the caption: "This is not a movie or music video. Truss mi daddy!!"
7. Burna Boy involved in robbery and battery assault
Looks like Burna Boy has bitten more than he can chew this time around as he has been accused of sending suspected robbers to rob and attack singer, Mr. 2kay.
Even though four suspects have been arrested including his road show manager, Joel and detained, Burna Boy is presently nowhere to be found as the police have sent him an invitation to come clear his name.
