Kumchacha gets down on his knees as he begs Mahama for a ministerial appointment

Renowned Ghanaian pastor, Prophet Kumchacha, has publicly appealed to President John Dramani Mahama for a government appointment.

During an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, 1st March 2025, Prophet Kumchacha expressed his belief that he was deserving of such a role. His appeal follows the recent appointment of renowned fashion designer, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), as Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs. Additionally, actor James Gardiner was named Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), while actress Kafui Danku was appointed as Executive Secretary in the final week of February 2025.

In his request, Prophet Kumchacha argued that, within the religious sector, no pastor in Ghana had worked harder than he had. He further claimed that no other pastor had put their life on the line for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party as he had done.

President Mahama should do his best and give me an appointment. I would like to be the head of the clergy in the country, he stated.

While making his plea going as far as kneeling he emphasised that for the past four years, he had defended the NDC more than any other pastor in Ghana. He also proposed that President Mahama establish a government organisation specifically for pastors, which he could oversee.

Explaining the purpose of this suggested body, Prophet Kumchacha stated that he would ensure that fraudulent pastors were prevented from exploiting their congregations.
