It was reported that AKA refused to join other nominees on stage after his countryman, Black Coffee, was crowned winner.

After a section of South Africans trolled him for losing out, AKA took to his twitter handle and indicated that although he does not really get along with Black Coffee, the most important thing is the glory landing in South Africa.

According to AKA, though they are not in good terms, he respects Black Coffee for his art.
