Renowned actress and former Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), Juliet Yaa Asante, has disclosed that the Bank of Ghana withdrew funds from the NFA's accounts at the end of last year.
Asante explained that the money had been specifically raised to set up an office and acquire a vehicle for the National Film Authority.
The little money I managed to secure for an office and a car was taken from the accounts by the Bank of Ghana before we could make the necessary purchases, she revealed.

In an emotional social media post on Sunday, 2 March 2025, Asante opened up about the numerous struggles she faced while serving as the NFA’s Executive Secretary. She revealed that when she took on the role, she had no office, no team, and no official vehicle to support her work.
Beyond financial setbacks, Asante also endured verbal and sexual harassment during her tenure.
I recall a particular day when I found myself trapped between two male superiors. One physically lifted me and pushed me into the arms of the other, insisting that I hug him, she recounted.
She also spoke about facing relentless online and offline abuse, recalling a period of two weeks where she was subjected to continuous insults across three separate WhatsApp groups.
Despite her difficult experiences, Asante extended her congratulations to Kafui Danku, the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the NFA.
She urged the government to ensure better working conditions for Danku, including providing office space and a vehicle, so she would not have to face the same struggles.
