Scores of pilgrims embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage are stranded in Tamale following reports of an emergency at the destination country, Mecca.
Managers at the airport have said that the problem is coming from a source and are working assiduously to find a solution.

The Northern Regional Coordinating Council at 12 midnight gave the pilgrims some biscuits and soft drinks in order to calm the situation.
But several of them are still frustrated as they do not know when the flight will take off.
Meanwhile, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to address the pilgrims at the Tamale Sports Stadium today, Friday August 11, 2017.
