Police in Effiduase in the Ashanti Region on Monday evening granted the girlfriend of deceased journalist of Kumasi-based Kessben Radio and TV bail.
The Effiduase District Police Commander, DSP Douglas Kumah told Pulse.com.gh that “It was alleged that he slept with the girlfriend so we have picked up the girlfriend, and she is assisting us with investigations.”
He said the police will take the next course of action pending the outcome of a scheduled post-mortem.
DSP Kumah explained that “By law, if within 24 hours somebody falls sick and all of a sudden he dies, then it becomes an inquest case. Inquest means we have to fill a form for a magistrate to give us permission before a doctor comes in to investigate to do autopsy to know the cause of death.”
He said some members of the family of the late journalist have also been invited for questioning.
Confidence who has been hosting other flagship programmes both on Kessben TV and Radio died over the weekend.
Tributes have been pouring in since his death was announced.
A popular Kumasi sports presenter Anthony Ackon Hammond, eulogized his colleague on Facebook over the, saying :”Confidence K Baah why???????????? Even yesterday he did breaking news after sports ali asked him confidence are u married n do u have kids he said i wont answer it not knowing death was staring at him.”
