Director of Elections at the EC, Samuel Tettey has revealed his outfit wil embark on an inspection excercise, after which the licenses of dormant political parties will be revoked.
Speaking at a Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) round table discussion, the Director of Elections at the EC, Samuel Tettey, revealed his outfit is considering withdrawing the certificates of the defunct parties. “… We will embark on one more inspection of the parties and then from there the Commission will take a decision to cancel the certificates given to those political parties,” he warned.
“Some of the parties on our list are non-existent and what we did the other time was we gave them the outcome of the inspection of the political parties and some of them were disputing so we gave them the report and we asked them to react but they haven’t done that. The Commission will be taking a look at all these things,” Mr. Tettey added.
