One dead in Konadu convoy accident

Reports suggest that several others sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman.

One person is reported dead after the convoy of the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP) was involved in an accident on the Techiman highway in the Brong Ahafo region.

The deceased is said to be the Offinso Constituency Chairman of the NDP, Isaac Mensah Afedzi.

According to the General Secretary of NDP Mohammed Frimpong the presidential candidate of the party is not hurt.

“Unfortunately one vehicle in the convoy was struck from behind by a speeding Burkinabe cargo truck. The vehicle summersaulted and hit several people. Unfortunately one of our people got injured on the spot and was taken to a clinic and later on transferred to a hospital. Unfortunately he passed away.”

The convoy was returning from Techiman to Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Nana  Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings has proceeded on her campaign tour to the Western region.

Meanwhile the family of the deceased have been notified of his demise.
