A fuel tanker and a van believed to be carting mosquito insecticide spray and mosquito coil were in the early hours of Thursday, 22 September, involved in an accident at Dzorwulu junction along the George Walker Bush highway (N1).

Reports say the Lapaz-bound fuel tanker had a brake failure and ran into the van.

The van subsequently ran into other vehicles parked near Fiesta Royale Hotel.

The driver of the tanker is said to have fled the scene after the accident. There was no casualty.
