The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of favouritism.

Policy Adviser of the party, Kofi Asamoah Siaw made this accusation at a press conference at the party headquarters in Accra.

He said, “we watched the presentation of Nana Akufo-Addo’s form to the chairperson of the commission and he told the chair that he was not going to fill the asset declaration requirement because it was not backed by law yet in that document he had declared under oath that he had done it.”

Siaw accused Nana Addo of falsification

With two days to the deadline for the submission of nomination forms, the EC released a statement asking presidential and parliamentary nominees to declare their assets with the Auditor General or forfeit their candidature.

Only the Flagbearer of the PPP, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, came out publicly to confirm the declaration of his assets to the Auditor General.

Meanwhile, the NPP fiercely kicked against it, saying it was unconstitutional.

Siaw said.

Dr Nduom is one of the thirteen presidential nominees who was disqualified by the EC for various anomalies in their nomination forms.
