The Ghana News Agency reported that Bernard Kissi Bekoe, was convicted in September 2016 on same offence by the court, but police say he flouted the court order leaving him in arrears of GH¢3,600 for his children’s upkeep.
Appearing before the same court again, he has pleaded guilty to the charge of failing to supply basic necessities to his two kids aged five and seven years respectively.
The same court whose orders he flouted earlier, but this time presided over by Mr Worlanyo Kotoku convicted Bekoe for failing to discharge his fatherly responsibilities to his two children after he pleaded guilty to the offence. However, the court has scheduled August 29 for sentencing.

Prosecution further stated that, after several attempts to make the accused cater for his children have failed, the complainant took the matter to a Family Tribunal where Bekoe was ordered to pay GH 300 cedis monthly to the complainant for the upkeep of his two children, but the Radio Presenter still failed to comply with the order.
According the Prosecutor, a referral letter was issued to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service for investigations.
The DOVVSU investigations revealed that Bekoe owed GH¢3,600 as his children’s upkeep money. He was therefore arrested and arraigned before the court.
