Baba Rahman will be on the sidelines for several months after he suffered an injury in Ghanas game against Uganda in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)

Having been on loan at Schalke 04 from English Premier League club Chelsea since the start of the season, Ghanaian player Baba Rahman (22) has played thirteen Bundesliga games. Unfortunately for the former Asante Kotoko player, Rahman will miss the rest of the Bundesliga season due to his injury.

Schalke 04 in a statement have confirmed that the Chelsea loanee, who injured the cruciate ligament of the knee will be out for several months, after he successfully underwent a surgery.

"Abdul Rahman Baba’s injury to his left knee was found to be worse than was initially forecasted after his operation in Augsburg yesterday. It presented a picture of a complex rupture to his cruciate ligament along with tears to his internal and external cartilage.
"The operation was completed without any complications. The medical team estimate that Baba faces several months on the sidelines," a statement from Schalke O4 reads.
