The flag-bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has called on party officials and supporters to end all camps within the party in order to go into the 2016 elections with a united front.
“Our internal contests are almost over. We have a few more constituencies which are yet to conduct their parliamentary primaries. Let us all remember that this talk of this person is a ‘Nana man’, that person is an ‘Alan man’ is no longer relevant. We are all members of the NPP, and I am going to work with all members of the party,” Nana Addo said during a courtesy call on him by the newly elected parliamentary candidate of the Madina constituency, Boniface Abubakr Saddique.
He added: “Boniface was part of Alan’s team and did not support me; today he is the parliamentary candidate for Madina. We are going to work together. We have to deliver Ghana from the failing government of Mahama’s NDC and bring back progress and prosperity to our country. We can only do that if we are all working together in sincerity.”
The NPP seems divided along the Alan Kyeremanteng and Nana Addo camps. Many have expressed concerns about the effect it is likely to have on the party in the 2016 presidential elections.
