Mahama wishes Black Stars well in AFCON

Former President John Mahama has sent a goodwill message to the Black Stars ahead of their first match in the 2017 AFCON against Uganda.

He also called on all Ghanaians to rally solidly behind the Stars as they embark on yet another journey to raise high the flag of Ghana.

Mr Mahama in a Twitter post said, "The AFCON cup has eluded us for far too long. Let's support our Black Stars."

The Black Stars are expected to beat Uganda and pick the three points of the competition being staged in Gabon.

Ghana is looking to win its fifth African title the first in 35 years at this tournament.

Ghana will be facing a Uganda side led by Avram Grant who guided the Black Stars to a second place finish in 2015.
