Former President Jerry John Rawlings and the Mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vandepuije, seem to have patched up after the embarrassing scene at the premises of Parliament Thursday.

Mr. Rawlings was attending Thursday's State of the Nation address delivered by President John Mahama in Parliament with his entourage when the incident took place.
In the video, a very stern-faced Rawlings was seen taking a swipe at the mayor as the latter tried to spark a conversation with him as they climb the stairs of parliament.
Mr. Rawlings, however, stopped and gestured him to move aside while he continued to parliament house. Mr. Vanderpuije who was left red-faced then moved back and greeted some colleagues.

Many have since accused Mr Rawliings of not being fair to the Mayor, while others believe Mr Vanderpuije should be blamed as he broke protocol by walking on the side of a VIP or attempting to engage him in a conversation while he moved on a red carpet.
However, ahead of the dissolution of 6th Parliament of the 4th Republic and inauguration of the 7th Parliament, Mr Rawlings was seen in a hearty conversation with the Accra Mayor in what seemed to be an apology from both sides.
The two were seen giving some explanations to each other, after which they both shook hands and parted company.
Below is the video of what happened between the two on Thursday:
