Did Rawlings snub Oko Vanderpuije?

Mr. Rawlings was attending Thursday's State of the Nation address delivered by President John Mahama in Parliament with his entourage when the incident took place.

In the video, a very stern-faced Rawlings is seen taking a swipe at the mayor as the latter tries to spark a conversation with him as they climb the stairs of parliament.

Mr. Rawlings stops and gestures him to move aside whiles he continues to parliament house. Mr. Vanderpuije then moves back and greets some colleagues.

Former president Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, a founding father of the NDC at the 35th anniversary of 31st December Revolution blasted the top hierarchy in the National Democratic Congress for its abysmal performance in the 2016 election.

He accused the party of corruption at its top rank and arrogance amongst appointees.

He further explained that the NDC themselves knew they would lose the election.  Mr. Rawlings cautioned the executives not to cite his absence from the campaign trail as the cause of their defeat.
