My girlfriend who gave up on me is still unmarried - Ramzy

 
 

The first runner-up in the first edition of Stars of the Future competition, William Ramzy Amui, popularly known as Ramzy has revealed that his girlfriend broke up with him a month after he was arrested for stealing.

In an exclusive interview with  Pulse.com.gh the ex-convict said his girlfriend gave up on him when he needed her the most.

“She came to me in prison just a month I had stayed there and told me she cannot be with me any longer.”

Ramzy who served his jail sentence at the Nsawam medium security prison said his girlfriend explained that “She is the first born and has other 5 siblings after her…..she was not growing any younger, she needed to get married before her younger siblings could and thus cannot wait for me.”

“Amazingly, I have stayed in prison for 10 years and only to come home and learn that she is still not married," he added.

Before his incarceration, Ramzy was a fast rising star in the Ghanaian music industry. He placed second at the Stars of the Future in 2006 and also auditioned for the M-Net West Africa Idol contest in Nigeria in 2007.

He was arrested only a few days before the date he was scheduled to go and compete in Nigeria.

He was handed a 10-year imprisonment with hard labour by the Tema High court presided over by Justice Peter Offei for his role in robbing a complainant of her 4×4 Toyota Highlander and an amount of GH¢300 at gunpoint.
