Amankwah Mireku: I have won more trophies than Gyan

The ex-Sunderland striker has been involved in a war of words with Mireku, after the latter made comments that the former doesn't have leadership qualities to lead the Black Stars and that he should be stripped of his captaincy to make way for Andre Ayew as the new skipper.

Gyan replied Mireku that he expects legends to criticise him and not the 2000 CAF Champions League winner, since he is not in his level.

Mireku has hit back at Asamoah Gyan telling the Black Stars skipper that he comes no where near him when it comes to trophies.

"I've won a lot of trophies, you've won nothing but money," he told Atinka FM

Amankwa Mireku won several domestic trophies with the Hearts of Oak and added the CAF Champions League and Super Cup in 2000 and 2001 respectively. He later captained Hearts of Oak to win the 2004 Confederation Cup.

Asamoah Gyan is the all-time topscorer of Ghana with 49 goals and African's greatest scorer in the FIFA World Cup with 6 goals.
