Unpatriotic KP Boateng has no right to criticize the Black Stars - Gyan

Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has hit back at his former teammate, Kevin Prince Boateng for criticising the Black Stars over poor performance in the 2017 AFCON.

The Las Palmas attacker in a tweet called for changes in the Black Stars expressing his surprise at the abysmal performance of the team in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), after Ghana finished fourth in the continental showpiece in Gabon.

Asamoah Gyan, however, in a response says Kevin Prince Boateng’s comment betrayed the playing body and he was amazed to hear that.

"He has betrayed his own colleagues with that tweet," Gyan told Angel FM.

"He might be right. I was expecting someone outside the team to come out with these comments and not Kevin-Prince Boateng.

"Ghana deserves better, Fine we the players know that Ghana deserves better.

"From what I have seen, Kevin Prince Boateng has never sacrificed for this Ghana national team.

"I leave this comment for journalist to talk about.

"I respect Kevin Prince Boateng so much for the kind of player he is, but that comment he made surprises and amazes me. I was not expecting that from him."

Kevin Prince Boateng is yet to earn a call-up to the Black Stars, since he was sacked from the Black Stars camp during the 2014 FIFA World Cup indecent act.
