Kwesi Nyantakyi says Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the out-going Minister for Youth and Sports had a plot to sabotage the Ghana Football Association (GFA)
The Sports Ministry headed by Nii Lantey Vanderpuye was at logger-heads with Kwesi Nyantakyi led GFA and were involved in several clashes.
Nii Lantey Vanderpuye claimed there was a lot of excesses in the budget allocation of the Black Stars prepared the GFA and swore to slash it down and even tagged the FA as a corrupt body, while Kwesi Nyantakyi in a response to his allegation referred to him as a lose talker who goes on radio on regular basis like a 'serial caller'.

The recent defeat suffered by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 presidential election in Ghana means Nii Lantey Vanderpuye will seize to be the sports minister with effect from January 7 when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government resumes power.

Nyantakyi has therefore expressed that Nii Lantey had a special hatred for the GFA, but he is now history.
“The sports minister was antagonistic to us but we were not and I don't know why he did that but now he belongs to history lets just forget about him and think ahead." he told Accra-based Starr FM
