The club’s poor form has put Frank Nuttal under pressure, with some fans unconvinced about the Scottish coach’s exploits.
Already, Hearts of Oak are seven points behind early pacesetters Kotoko and Aduana Stars having lost to the latter last Sunday.
However, Frank Nelson insists the coach’s job is not at risk even if he fails to win the league title this season, and urged the fans to exercise patience.
''We have a contract with him, he just began work, we need to give him time, he is getting to know the players well,'' the board member told Starr FM.
''Yes of course there is a target for him but it doesn’t mean if he fail to win the title he will be sacked, that is not part of his contract.
“We are giving him all the support he needs and we know he will succeed with the Club, there is still a long way to go in the League.''
Hearts of Oak currently lie 7th on the league log, and the next face regional rivals Great Olympics on Sunday.
