The Ashanti Gold chairman has not been on good terms with the hierarchy of the FA, having registered his displeasure with several issues pertaining to the StarTimes broadcast sponsorship deal.
Fianoo was elected as Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman last year, and has been on a collision mission with the county’s top football officials after accusing them of not being transparent.
However, the matter has taken a whole new twist after the Ashanti Gold chairman alleged that the FA IS planning to get his side relegated.
In an interview with Nhyira FM, Fianoo said: “Powers that be in Ghana football [are] plotting against Ashanti Gold to be relegated.

“Some called a staunch supporter of AshantiGold, Awudu ‘2000’ that they should force me out of office [as the club’s CEO], otherwise what happened to Heart of Lions and Olympics will happen to AshantiGold.
“The plot is centered on the claim that I am challenging GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi.”
Cudjoe Fianoo has been very critical of the Kwesi Nyantakyi administration, and once openly stated that he would do anything to help reform the Ghana Football Association.

However, it is unclear whether he has vivid evidence to back his claims.
