We studied Ghana's weakness - Hugo Broos

"We looked for the strong points and weaknesses" - Hugo Broos

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos has revealed his team knew about Ghana’s weaknesses ahead of their semi final AFCON clash.

The Indomitable Lions defeated Ghana 2-0 in Franceville to book a date with Egypt in what will be a repeat of the final of 2008.

Ghana had been tipped as favourites to beat the hard working but relatively inexperienced side but found themselves under the josh for vast periods of the game as the Cameroonian team created better chances.

“Ghana is a very good team and we saw lots of videos about their game.We looked for the strong points and weaknesses and we did it very well even in the second half even when we suffered a little bit”.

The Belgian also revealed that the eight senior players including Liverpool’s Joel Matip,West Brom’s Alan Nyom and Anguish who had all turned down invitations to play at the AFCON would have to convince him in order to earn a return.

“It was not difficult to assemble a team. It was just that some players did not want to come.I think maybe now they regret it because they are not here with us.

“They still have a future but the decision lies with them.I will not phone them and ask them to come. They have to phone me and convince me and its not just to play a match, they have got be willing to stay.”
