Ghana has been the most consistent nation in the Africa Cup of Nations in the last decade, making it to at least the semi-finals of the last six tournaments.
However, the country has failed to win the coveted trophy since 1982.
The Black Stars have always been close, yet so far from winning the trophy, having lost to Ivory Coast in the final of the last tournament.
The Black Stars are again in the semi-final of this year’s competition where they will face Cameroon.

And George Afriyie, who is also the Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) – says winning the trophy will require a bit of ‘luck’.
“Sometimes you need an element of luck in these tournaments,” he told Metro TV.
“Just look at Ivory Coast: they lost to Egypt in 2006 and they again lost to Zambia in 2012. But they were third time lucky. I pray we are also lucky [against Cameroon]. I pray we do not go to penalties. But if we do, we must still win.”
The Black Stars will face Cameroon later on Thursday to determine who makes it into the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
