The former Black Stars captain who returned for a second stint with the senior national team of Ghana officially started work on May 1, 2017.
On his unveiling, the 56-year-old coach said he wants to make sure the Black Stars do not just have a team for today but also 10 years from now.

But Kwesi Appiah is not going to do this alone. He has a backroom staff who will help him achieve his goals.
Here are all the people who will back the Black Stars coach in his job.
1st Assistant Coach
Ibrahim Tanko will be Kwesi Appiah’s right hand man in managing the affairs of Black Stars taking the role of an assistant coach.
2nd Assistant Coach
Maxwell Konadu who has been the assistant coach for the senior national team of Ghana in the last five years takes a second spot in that same role.
Goalkeepers' Trainer
Former goalkeeper of the Black Stars, Richard 'Olele' Kingson will take charge of training the goalkeepers.
Technical Coordinator
The Ghana Football Association has created a new role in the management of the senior national team of Ghana and that is the Technical Coordinator.
Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah will be the first man to take on the new job as a means to help Kwesi Appiah perform executing his duties.
Team Doctor
The Black Stars will have Chris Adomako as the team’s doctor.
Video Analyst
Michael Okyere will be the video analyst for the Black Stars.
