Black Starlets camp hit by malaria ahead of semi-final clash

Some of the Black Starlets players are battling with malaria ahead of their semi-finals clash against Niger

Players of the U-17 male national football team of Ghana are battling to be fit for their Wednesdays CAF U17 semi-final clash against Niger.

Winger Edmund Ako-Mensah, left-back Gideon Acquah, Abdul Razak Yusif, Isaac Antah, Faisal Osman and a couple others are all have been knocked down by malaria

Meanwhile, first choice goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim who is yet to concede in the competition is also being assessed after picking up a knock in the team’s final Group match against Guinea.

The players are still undergoing treatment to ensure they regain full fitness before their semi-final game against Niger in the midweek in Port Gentil.

Head Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is also said to have been knocked down by the illness (Malaria).

Ghana have been tipped as favourites to win the tournament after they scored nine (9) goals, without conceding  to top group A.
