Ghana set new AFCON record after DR Congo win

The Black Stars have reached a record six consecutive AFCON semis, after win over DR Congo

Ghana defeated DR Congo to become the first country to reach the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations for six consecutive times.

The four times champions of Africa edged out DR Congo to squeeze through to the semi-finals of the 2017 Africa Cup of nations, courtesy of Jordan Ayew and Andre Ayew goals, with Mpoku scoring that of the Leopards.

The Black Stars had done it in five consecutive tournaments which was an African record and they have broken their own record to reach the semis for six continuous tournaments.

They have reached the semis since 2008, a total of six periods, (2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017).
