The outgoing majority leader of parliament has said that when it is time for change nothing and nobody can stand in the way.

He said this in parliament when he delivered his closing remarks during the dissolution of the sixth parliament of the fourth republic on Friday, 6 January.

“Nobody can stand against change, change is natural and it will come when it will come.”

“It is, therefore, imperative that as leaders, we develop the capacity to accept change when it comes. We should respect the will of the people anytime it is expressed,” he added.

The outgoing minority leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu on his part expressed disappointment at the manner in which some bills were passed at the last minute without due diligence.

Addressing the house the speaker of parliament Edward Doe Adjaho said he believes he did his best at the position during his tenure.

The seventh parliament of the fourth republic will have Mike Ocquaye as its speaker, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as the majority leader and Haruna Iddrisu as the minority leader. Alban Bagbin will serve as the second deputy speaker of the house.
