President John Mahama has said the fake thumb-printed ballot papers found in Kumasi is part of a grand scheme being used by the NPP to create the impression that the only way the NDC can win the elections is to rig.

The report suggested that all the ballot papers had thumb prints for President John Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
But the regional police Commander, COP Kofi Boakye said the ballot papers retrieved had no serial numbers, therefore, making them fake.
The hotel has pointed accusing fingers at the New Patriotic Party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Wontumi), and his assistant, Andy Owusu, in the incident, a claim the two have denied.
But commenting on the matter in Kumasi, the president said the incident is rather unfortunate.
“They have been at this game since the inception of the electioneering. They keep accusing the EC for plotting to steal the vote for me, but I know it is just to create the impression that the NDC is going to rig the elections.
“In spite of all that, God keeps exposing them. Look at what they did today, they wanted to create the scene as though the NDC is thumb printing ballots but it turned out to be their own machination. I know God is alive and He is watching all these actions. God is not asleep,” John Mahama noted.
