Ensure free and fair polls - Kufuor

Former President John Kufuor also charged the Electoral Commission not to neglect its core duties of being fair and transparent.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has charged Ghanaians to ensure peaceful elections in the 2016 November polls.

According to him, politics is not a do-or-die affair but a means for the electorate to express their divergent views towards the transformation of the country.

He said all political parties have a crucial role to play in ensuring an incident-free elections.

President Kufuor speaking in an interview on Starr FM, said "We are praying for it, if we are not confident then what is the use, we must continue to hope and continue to do constructive criticisms so that all concerned are put on their toes to the best for the sake of Ghana.

He noted that, "We see what is happening around us all over the place and we must learn from it. We do not want the explosions that take place elsewhere in Ghana so we should all caution ourselves."

He has also charged the Electoral Commission not to neglect its core duties of being fair and transparent.
